Ask a Nutritionist: On recommended reading

The Gut Stuff Reader:

I am a beginner and interested in gut health in general please recommend reading etc…

Miguel Answers:

There is a lot of gut health information out there, some very technical, some oversimplified. I’m going to give you my 2 picks:

Gut Microbiota for Health

A site by the European Society for Neurogastroenterology and Motility that’s won “best blog” awards in 2016 and 2017. It’s full of interesting features on nutrition, gut microbes, and research on different conditions, but it’s not completely overwhelming for the non-scientist.

The Gut Makeover by Jeannette Hyde, co-agony aunt here at the Gut Stuff. Jeannette has summarised the science into a practical book that will take you through how to do at home what the studies are saying, in a simple way, and relying solely on foods, i.e. no expensive magic pills to buy.

I trust you’ll find these two resources valuable.
