The Gut Stuff Reader:
I’ve suffered from IBS for many years (approx 6 years) and I manage to control well most of the time with my diet however my bowels have always been loose. I go to the toilet regularly every day a few times in the morning and they’re always loose stools which I am concerned about. I am a fit and healthy young person who eats well and exercises a few times a week so not sure what is best.
Very sorry to hear you have been suffering for IBS for so long and have loose stools very often. I have been using Time Restricted Feeding (TRF) with clients in your position and it is working very well. This means eating in a 8-10 hour window each day, and fasting overnight for between 14 and 16 hours. The long overnight rest without any food means the digestive system has time to repair itself, and good gut bacteria thrive. I have been seeing good results from this method in 4-6 weeks. Make sure to stop eating at least 2 hours before you go to bed. You can drink water or herbal teas in the overnight fast, but nothing else. Good luck. Let us know how it goes, Jeannette
